Build Humus nOT laNDFILLS
In landfills, rotting food scraps give off methane, a greenhouse gas 84 times more potent than CO2. But when composted, food scraps become soil-building humus. Compost fights climate change by promoting plant growth. It also returns to the soil, nutrients that plants took, closing the loop and reducing farmers' need for fertilizer.
Community Compost Hub
Our Thursday, Westwood Village market and our Saturday, Playa Vista market have Community Compost Hubs. These are places where neighbors can drop off their household food scraps and yard waste, for free! These hubs rely on donations from our community.
